Courthouse Security
The Courthouse Security and Bailiff Division of the Caswell County Sheriff's Office provides a safe environment for judges, courthouse staff and visitors of the Caswell County Courthouse. The Caswell County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the security of the courthouse, protecting the integrity of court procedures and ensuring the rights of all individuals involved in the judicial process. In addition, the deputies serving at the courthouse provide a deterrence to those who would disrupt, disgrace, or act violently during court proceedings or conducting business at the courthouse.
Courthouse Entrance: 139 East Church Street Yanceyville, NC 27379
There is one public entrance to access the courthouse located on East Church Street. Parking is available in any 3 parking lots around the building or across the street at the Yanceyville Municipal building. All visitors entering the courthouse must be scanned via metal detector and/or hand-held metal detector. All bags, purses, brief cases, wallets, etc., will be searched as well. Any weapons will be seized and possible legal action will be taken upon individuals attempting to bring weapons into the courthouse.
Items not Permitted in the Courthouse
Handguns, pistols, rifles, ammunition, knives (including pocket knives), blades of any type, dirks, daggers, loaded cane, shurikin or other martial arts, stars, cleaver, steak knife, butcher knife, loaded cigarette lighter, loaded lipstick, razor blades, brass knuckles, drug paraphernalia, illegal drugs, alcoholic beverages, hair picks, cell phones, cameras (unless members of the media with prior approval), recording devices (unless used as evidence in a case or media with prior approval), glass bottles, toy guns, tools (such as screwdrivers, ice picks, etc) unless being used by maintenance personnel or handicap persons with tools attached to their wheelchair.
This is not an all inclusive list. There may be other items which security determines to be will be unsafe and/or in the courthouse.
PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR COURTHOUSE BUSINESS
Court Security reserves the right to deny access to the courthouse for any reason including inappropriate, profane, or gang related clothing.

Civil Divison
The Caswell County Sheriff's Office Division is responsible for the service of civil papers in the County of Caswell. By the North Carolina Law, the Caswell County Sheriff's office has a duty to serve civil processes to the citizens of Caswell County in a timely fashion. Status of service may be checked by calling the Sheriff's Office at (336)694-9311 between the hours of 8AM - 5PM Monday through Friday.
Please be prepared to provide the docket number and/or the name and address of where service is being attempted.
